Los Angeles Dodgers Accelerator
Creating the first startup accelerator from a pro sports franchise
-
The LA Dodgers Accelerator was a first-of-its-kind initiative, helping to launch innovations in all major sports and define the Dodgers brand as technology pioneer. It was the world’s first startup accelerator to be sponsored by a major sports franchise.
We recruited 15 of the most visionary companies in sports, representing breakthroughs on the field of play, in training rooms, across stadium operations, youth sports, and more.
Each startup relocated to Los Angeles for the program. Our team worked with each of them on their business strategy, messaging, branding, product development, storytelling, and the creation of unique pilots and demos, concluding with a demo event in the middle of Dodger Stadium.
I directed creative projects with each company on-site, directed the demo event, and more.

STARTUP PILOT PROGRAM
Autonomous Broadcasting
-
This is an example of a pilot program we developed with two companies that had never worked together previously. ShotTracker is a sensor-based technology that accurately captures and records players in-game movements and calculates statistics in real-time. Keemotion uses machine learning to record gameplay and instantly stream a broadcast-quality edit of the game.
By combining the two innovations , we were able to autonomously capture stats, record footage, and live stream 31 games at the NAIA Division 1 Basketball Tournament in Kansas City.
I was honored to present this work at Cannes in 2017 where it was shortlisted for the Innovation Lions.

Focus Motion
-
FocusMotion is the world’s first algorithm platform to track real human movement. Their tech plugs into any wearable device, and allows movements of any type to be understood, recorded, and analyzed in real-time. This allows athletes at all levels improve their performance in ways that have never been possible before.
We helped them redefine their messaging, identify use cases for positioning, rework their pitch narrative, and develop a live demonstration of the technology. The work was awarded at the One Show, Webby’s, D&AD, Cannes, and more.
